The Chain

1. Crying

I was all right for a while, I could smile for a while
But I saw you last night, you held my hand so tight
When you stopped to say "Hello"
You wished me well, you couldn't tell

That I've been crying over you, crying over you
And you said "so long". Left me standing all alone
Alone and crying, crying, crying, crying
It's hard to understand but the touch of your hand
Can start me crying

I thought that I was over you but it's true, so true
I love you even more than I did before but darling what can I do
For you don't love me and I'll always be

Crying over you, crying over you
Yes, now you're gone and from this moment on
I'll be crying, crying, crying, crying
Yes I’m crying, crying, over you

2. Help Me Make It Through the Night

Take the ribbon from my hair,
shake it loose and let it fall.
Lay it soft upon your skin,
like the shadows on the wall.

Come and lay down by my side
Till the early morning light
All I'm takin' is your time.
Help me make it through the night.

I don't care what's right or wrong
I don't try to understand.
Let the devil take tomorrow
Cause tonight I need a friend.

Yesterday is dead and gone
and tomorrow's out of sight
And it's sad to be alone.
Help me make it through the night.

I don't care what's right or wrong.
I don't try to understand.
Let the devil take tomorrow
for tonight I need a friend.

Cause’ yesterday is dead and gone
and tomorrow's out of sight
And it's sad to be alone.
Help me make it through the night.

I don't wanna be alone.
Help me make it through the night.

3. Love Is Like a Butterfly

Love is like a butterfly
As soft and gentle as a sigh
The multicolored moods of love are like its satin wings
Love makes your heart feel strange inside
It flutters like soft wings in flight
Love is like a butterfly, a rare and gentle thing

I feel it when you're with me
It happens when you kiss me
That rare and gentle feeling that I feel inside
Your touch is soft and gentle
Your kiss is warm and tender
Whenever I am with you I think of butterflies

Love is like a butterfly
As soft and gentle as a sigh
The multicolored moods of love are like its satin wings
Love makes your heart feel strange inside
It flutters like soft wings in flight
Love is like a butterfly, a rare and gentle thing

Your laughter brings me sunshine
Everyday is spring time
And I am only happy when you are by my side
How precious is this love we share
How very precious, sweet and rare
Together we belong like daffodils and butterflies

Love is like a butterfly
As soft and gentle as a sigh
The multicolored moods of love are like its satin wings
Love makes your heart feel strange inside
It flutters like soft wings in flight
Love is like a butterfly, a rare and gentle thing

Love is like a butterfly, a rare and gentle thing

4. The Boxer

I am just a poor boy, though my story is seldom told.
I have squandered my resistance,
For a pocketful of mumbles, such are promises.
All lies and jest.
Still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest.

When I left my home and my family I was no more than a boy,
In the company of strangers,
In the quiet of the railway station, runnin' scared.
Laying low, seeking out the poorer quarters,
Where the ragged people go.
Lookin' for the places, only they would know.

Lie-la-lie ...

Asking only workman's wages I come lookin' for a job,
But I get no offers,
Just a come-on from the whores on Seventh Avenue.
I do declare there were times when I was so lonesome,
I took some comfort there.
La, la, la, la, la, la, la.

Lie-la-lie ...

And I’m laying out my winter clothes,
And wishing I was gone, goin’ home
Where the new york city winters aren’t bleedin’ me,
Leadin’ me home, goin’ home.

In the clearing stands a boxer and a fighter by his trade,
And he carries the reminders of every glove that laid him down,
Or cut him 'til he cried out in his anger and his shame,
"I am leaving, I am leaving."
But the fighter still remains, still remains.

Lie-la-lie ...

5. Lay Lady Lay

Lay, lady, lay, lay across my big brass bed
Lay, lady, lay, lay across my big brass bed
Whatever colors you have in your mind
I’ll show them to you and you’ll see them shine

Lay, lady, lay, lay across my big brass bed
Stay, lady, stay, stay with your man awhile
Until the break of day, let me see you make him smile
His clothes are dirty but his hands are clean
And you’re the best thing that he’s ever seen

Stay, lady, stay, stay with your man awhile
Why wait any longer for your world to begin
You can have your cake and eat it too
Why wait any longer for the one you love
When he’s standing in front of you

Lay, lady, lay, lay across my big brass bed
Stay, lady, stay, stay while the night is still ahead
I long to see you in the morning light
I long to reach for you in the night
Stay, lady, stay, stay while the night is still ahead

6. The Weight

I pulled into Nazareth, I was feelin' about half past dead.
I just need some place where I can lay my head.
"Hey, mister, can you tell me where a man might find a bed?"
He just grinned and shook my hand, and "No!" was all he said.

Take a load off Annie, take a load for free.
Take a load off Annie, and you put the load right on me.

I picked up my bag, I went lookin' for a place to hide.
When I saw Carmen and the Devil walkin' side by side.
I said, "Hey, Carmen, come on, let's go downtown."
She said, "I gotta go, but my friend can stick around."

Take a load off Annie, take a load for free.
Take a load off Annie, and you put the load right on me.

Go down, Miss Moses, there's nothin' that you can say
It's just ol' Luke, and Luke's waitin' on the Judgement Day.
"Well, Luke, my friend, what about young Anna Lee?"
He said, "Do me a favor, son, won’t ya stay an' keep Anna Lee
company?"

Take a load off Annie, take a load for free.
Take a load off Annie, and you put the load right on me.

Crazy Chester followed me, and he caught me in the fog.
He said, "I will fix your rack, if you'll take Jack, my dog."
I said, "Wait a minute, Chester, you know I'm a peaceful man."
He said, "That's okay, boy, won't you feed him when you can."

Take a load off Annie, take a load for free.
Take a load off Annie, and you put the load right on me.

I gotta catch a cannonball, now, take me on down the line
My bag is sinkin' low and I do believe it's time.
Get back to Miss Annie, you know she's the only one.
Who sent me here with her regards for everyone.

Take a load off Annie, take a load for free.
Take a load off Annie, and you put the load right on me.

7. I'm Not Lisa

I'm not Lisa. My name is Julie
Lisa left you years ago
My eyes are not blue
But mine won't leave you
'Til the sunlight has touched your face

She was your morning light
Her smile told of no night
Your love for her grew
With each rising sun

And then one winter day
His hand led her away
She left you here drowning in your tears
Here where you've stayed for years
Crying Lisa, Lisa

I'm not Lisa. My name is Julie
Lisa left you years ago
My eyes are not blue
But mine won't leave you
'Til the sunlight has touched your face

I'm not Lisa

8. Swinging

There's a little girl in our neighborhood,
her name is Charlotte Johnson and she's really lookin' good.
He had to go and see her, so he called her on the phone.
He walked over to her house and this was going on:

Her brother was on the sofa, eatin' chocolate pie,
her Mama was in the kitchen cuttin' chicken up to fry.
Her daddy was in the backyard rollin' up a garden hose,
He was on the porch with Charlotte, feelin' love down to his toes...
and they were swinging, yeah they were swinging...
Little Charlotte she's as pretty as the angels when they sing,
I can't believe he’s out here on her front porch in the swing,
just-a-swinging,

Now Charlotte she's a darlin', she's the apple of my eye,
and when I'm on the swing with her it makes me almost high.
Charlotte is my lover and she has been since the spring,
I just can't believe it started on the front porch in the swing.

Just a swinging, well just a swinging,
Little Charlotte she's as pretty as the angels when they sing,
I can't believe I'm out here on the front porch in the swing,
just-a-swinging.

Little Charlotte she's as pretty as the angels when they sing,
I can't believe they’re out here on the front porch in the swing,
just-a-swinging.

9. On the Road Again

On the road again
Just can't wait to get on the road again
The life I love is makin' music with my friends
And I can't wait to get on the road again
On the road again
Goin' places that I've never been
Seein' things that I may never see again,
And I can't wait to get on the road again.

On the road again
Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway
We're the best of friends
Insisting that the world be turnin' our way
And our way
Is on the road again
Just can't wait to get on the road again
The life I love is makin' music with my friends
And I can't wait to get on the road again

On the road again
Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway
We're the best of friends
Insisting that the world be turnin' our way
And our way
Is on the road again
Just can't wait to get on the road again
The life I love is makin' music with my friends
And I can't wait to get on the road again
I can't wait to get on the road again
I can't wait to get on the road again

10. Good Hearted Woman

A long time forgotten our dreams that just fell by the way
The good life he promised ain't what she's been livin' today
She never complains of the bad times
Or the bad things he's done
She just talks about the good times they've had
And all the good times to come

She's a good hearted woman in love with a good timin' man
She loves him in spite of his ways she don't understand
With teardrops & laughter they pass through this world hand in hand
She’s a good hearted woman who’s lovin' a good timin' man

He likes the night life and bright lights and good timin’ friends
And when the party's all over she'll welcome him back home again
Lord knows she don't understand him but she does the best that she can
She’s a good hearted woman, lovin' a good timin' man

She's a good hearted woman in love with a good timin' man
And she loves him in spite of his ways she don't understand
Through teardrops & laughter they gonna pass through this world hand in hand
A good hearted woman, lovin' a good timin' man

She's a good hearted woman in love with a good timin' man
She loves him in spite of his ways she don't understand
Through teardrops & laughter they pass through this world hand in hand
A good hearted woman, in love with a good timin' man

11. He Still Thinks I Care

Just because I ask a friend about him
Just because I spoke his name somewhere
Just because I rang his number by mistake today
He thinks I still care

Just because I haunt the same old places
Where the memory of her lingers everywhere
Just because I'm not the happy guy I used to be
She thinks I still care

But if he's happy thinking I still need him
Then let that silly notion bring him cheer
But how could she ever be so foolish
Now where would she get such an idea?

Just because I asked a friend about him
Just because I spoke her name somewhere
Just because I saw him then went all to pieces
He thinks I still care
She thinks I still care

12. Old Man

Old man look at my life,
I’m a lot like you were.
Old man look at my life,
I’m a lot like you were.

Old man look at my life,
Twenty four and there’s so much more
Live alone in a paradise
That makes me think of two.

Love lost, such a cost,
Give me things that don’t get lost.
Like a coin that wont get tossed
Rolling home to you.

Old man take a look at my life I’m a lot like you
I need someone to love me the whole day through
Oh, one look in my eyes and you can tell that’s true.

Lullabies, look in your eyes,
Run around the same old town.
Doesn’t mean that much to me
To mean that much to you.

I’ve been first and I’ve been last
Look at how the time goes past.
But I’m all alone at last.
Rolling home to you.

Old man take a look at my life I’m a lot like you
I need someone to love me the whole day through
Oh, one look in my eyes and you can tell that’s true.

Old man look at my life,
I’m a lot like you were.
Old man look at my life,
I’m a lot like you were.

The Story of my life

1. The Girl You Left Me For

I wish I could give you the love you deserve
I wish I could be your servant du jour
I wish I could tell you the things that I'm not
I wanna show you what I've got
And I wish you would love me anyway

Chorus
I wanna be the girl you left me for
I wanna be the one that you adore
I wanna be the girl you left me for

I'm gonna treat you more like a king
Make me a puppet without any strings
I want your perfume on my pillowcase
She's gonna turn you inside out and I...
I'm gonna love you anyway

Chorus
I wanna be the girl you left me for
I wanna be the one that you adore
I wanna be the girl you left me for

Bridge
You've got me on my knees
Don't break my heart again
I don't want your sympathy
I don't want to be your friend

Yeah Yeah Yeah
Yeah Yeah Yeah
Yeah Yeah Yeah
Yeah Yeah Yeah
I wanna feel you on my fingertips

Chorus
I wanna be the girl you left me for
I wann be the one that you adore
I wanna be the girl you left me for
I wanna be the one that you adore
I wanna be the girl you left me for

2. One Day at a Time

I've got a friend who wears go-go boots to Sunday School
We used to sit and drink pink champagne on a tin roof
Ridin' it out in a Thunderbird
Singin' out loud every single word of Jack & Diane
Tryin' to pretend there was no rules
Kissin' on boys and sneakin' in bars
Tryin' to get a glimpse of who we are
We weren't wild, but we weren't far

She said Thelma and Louise, you got nothin' on me
And you can tell ol' James Dean to get in line
Thanks to Elvis and Kurt Cobain, the world will never be the same
You gotta make history one day at a time

She graduated in 1987
We were gonna make a break for it together
Headed out to Hollywood
Where the stars are bright and the weather's good
But she changed her mind and went back to the 7-11
She went and married the football star
Had few kids and works real hard
It ain't wild but it ain't far

(Repeat Chorus)

Hey, Thelma and Louise, you got nothin' on me
And you can tell ol' James Dean to get in line
Thanks to Jesus and John Wayne the world will never be the same
You've gotta make history one day at a time

Like John Lennon and Kennedy
I'm with them, yeah, 'cause I believe
You gotta make history one day at a time

3. Ordinary

White lace bedspread, Monet hanging over my head
Big smile on my face, wine glasses all over the place
Your shirt on my floor, I've never done that before
Yeah, yeah, yeah...

CHORUS
Don't it feel so good
Flying high without a net above the neighborhood
I love to cross the line
I get a running start and I go five steps at a time
Oh wouldn't be scary
Just being ordinary?

At my church I pray. I had a long talk with the angels today
And they say, "Listen to me...you gotta be a shepard, don't be a sheep"
Stop sign go away cause I ain't stopping for no one today
Yeah, yeah, yeah...

REPEAT CHORUS

When I was a little girl my momma used to say,
"You only get one chance in this world and it's a chance you gotta take!"
And 30 years later here I am and I can't wait
La, la, la, la, I can't wait...

4. In a Heartbeat

I can't ignore the voices in my head
The things we never said hunting me down
I fell like I've found myself in pieces on the floor
More broken than before I let you down...

You can lose someone in a heartbeat
You can lose yourself in a memory...

CHORUS
Look at me now, I'm going insane
I'm looking back at what remains
What have I done, was it in vain?
Can you forgive me once again?
Say you'll do that, and I'd take it back
In a heartbeat

I can't avoid the will to fall apart
To stop before I start living again
I try to pretend I'm not afraid to set you free
To push you out to sea to wait for the wind...

You can lose someone in a heartbeat
You can lose yourself in a memory...

REPEAT CHORUS

What have I done, was it in vain?
Can you forgive me again?
I'd take it back, if you'd say you'll do that
In a heartbeat

5. Katie

Katie likes to run around
In cotton panties and a crown
She driving all the boys insane
Suckin' on a candy cane...
She likes to play the tambourine
Her favorite color's Army green
She's a vegetarian; she's a lovely loaded gun...

CHORUS
Katie has a way of seeing things
That everybody else is just afraid to dream of
It's funny how it seems, but when you look at her
I swear, you see love.

She wears diamonds oh her toes
She lets her belly button show
She puts perfume in her hair
You don't look at her, you stare...

6. Atlanta & Birmingham

I'm in a hotel room in California
Giving it my best to give you up
I'm leaving on a jet plane to New Orleans
You and me, we didn't see it coming

Chorus
But somewhere between Atlanta and Birmingham
We fell in love with just one touch
It was out of our hands
I'm holding on to every word you said
Somewhere between Atlanta and Birmingham

I gotta pick up the pieces of my lonely heart
I want you to know it's not your fault
You got to go to love that's waiting
I hope that your green eyes say what you aren't saying

Chorus
Somewhere between Atlanta and Birmingham
We fell in love with just one touch
It was out of our hands
I never thought that my whole world could end
Somewhere between Atlanta and Birmingham

Somewhere between Atlanta and Birmingham
We fell in love with just one touch
It was out of our hands
I never thought that my whole world would end
Somewhere beteen Atlanta and Birmingham

I'm in a hotel room in California
Giving it my best to give you up

7. She's Good for You

She parks her care on woodland street
She got a job at maintain free
She's kind of pretty
In the peculiar kind of way
And I try hard to like her
Yeah I try to like her

Cause she's good for you
She's so good for you
You say she's good for you
That makes her bad
That makes her very bad for me

I saw her at the grocery store
Her stuff was obviosly yours
It sounds silly but it made me want to cry
And I tried hard to hide it
Yeah I tried hard to hide it

Cause she's good for you
She's so good for you
You say she's good gor you
That makes her bad
That makes her really bad for me

It's torture
The thought of you touching her
Remembering the way we were
And I try hard to like her
Yeah I try hard to like her

Cause she's good for you
She's so good for you
But even if it's true
That makes her bad
That makes her really bad for me

She's bad for me
She's very bad for me

8. Not Another Love Song

I can't help but wonder how
This fire keeps going out
Even when we try to keep it burning
It's hard to let you go
And that's because I know
That holding on is worth a little hurting...

CHORUS
I don't wanna write a love song
Not another love song
I cannot take another painful melody
I don't wanna write a love song
Not another love song
Until I know you're coming back to me

I wish that you could stay
I wish it everyday
Even though our love is slowly dying
What's a heart supposed to do
When wishes don't come true
It hurts so much it's hard to keep on trying...

CHORUS

9. Sunny Day

I ain't picked up my guitar in 15 days
some music man doesn't give a damn
what i have to say
but he's stealing tears and playing games
that i don't play
i'm not gonna let that son-of-a-bitch take my love away
you can't take my love away...

(CHORUS)

so roll me over, over, over
while you turn your head
hold me under, under
while i take in my last
it gets colder, colder, colder
while you try to save yourself
god's gonna blow your clouds away
and give me sunny day.

it's on the telephone, the tv and on the radio
any day now the final whistle is bound to blow
but this ain't the way we have to say we had to go
there's still a chance that hand-in-hand and shore-to-shore
they can't take our love away...

(REPEAT CHORUS)

10. Getting Over You

Out here out on my own
I admit that it gets me sometimes
It's not that I'm not strong
It's just a different view
I know that I belong
Standing out in the sweet sunshine
I've been up all night long
Getting over you
Getting over you
Getting over you

I know that I'm not stuck
Cause in my pocket's a four leaf clover
I'm filling up on luck
The clouds all fade to blue
I'm cutting off your strings
I don't carry your weight no longer
I'm spreading out my wings
I smile and face the truth

Chorus:
All the little things are leaving me as I speak
All that used to be is just a memory, yeah

Getting over you, yeah

You might wanna try
But you won't be my demise
Gonna find my peace of mind
I ain't wasting no more time
Getting over you

Chorus

Out here on my own
I'm where I belong
Getting over you
I'm forgetting you

11. The Story of My Life

I wish I was a little more clear-headed
So I could paste the pieces of last night
Try not to regret it, sifting through the laughter and the lies
I guess that’s just the story of my life

I was born in a sixties winter
My mom was young and my dad had an appetite
A saint and a sinner, wrestling with what’s wrong and what’s right
I guess that’s just the story of my life

When the rolled me down the last lost highway
You won’t find me putting up a fight
But if I could have things my way
We’d all be there to soak up the light?
And wave goodbye
I guess that’s just the story of my life

I'm Just A Girl

1. I'm Just A Girl

I've traveled 'round the world in airplanes and in cars
I've tried exotic foods and smoked some fine cigars

I'm just a girl, an American girl
I'm just a girl, but I'm not an ordinary girl
I'm a Chevy girl

I've strolled down Paris streets, been lost in London fog
But all I really need are the fields of Arkansas

I'm just a girl, an American girl
I'm just a girl, but I'm not an ordinary girl
I need an old Corvette with the top down
And a backseat for my friends
I need baseball and apple pie to feel alive
Gimme a Coke-a-cola sundae and a Beach Boy's serenade
I need freedom to be all around the world

I'm a Southern girl
I want an old porch swing under Montana skies
To hold a working man, looking good in his old Levi's

I'm just a girl, an American girl
I'm just a girl, but I'm not an ordinary girl
I need an old Corvette with the top down
And a backseat for my friends
I need baseball and apple pie to feel alive
Gimme a Coke-a-cola sundae and a Beach Boy's serenade
I need freedom to be all around the world

I'm daddy's girl
I've traveled 'round this world and I'm ready to go home

2. There's No Limit

If it's a long long road
Baby I'll walk it
If it's a mountain high
Baby I'll cross it
If it's a deep blue sky
You know I'll jump out in it
There's nothing i would not do for you
There's no limit

If you want my heart
You can have it
If you want my soul
You gotta grab it
If you want my love
Then baby come and get it
There's nothing i would not do for you
There's no limit

Let's pack that pony up and say goodbye to Hollywood
Climb into the back and just get on with feeling good
Let's pack that pony up and bid goodbye to Hollywood
Slide into the back there's nothing wrong with feeling good...
Feelin' good

If it's a beat up heart
I'll mend it
If it's a broken smile
I'll bend it
If it's a barbed wire fence
You know I'll take my chances
There's nothing i would not do...
'Cause honey you're living proof
There's no limit....mmmhmmm

If it's a long long road
You can have it
If it's a mountain high
You gotta grab it
If it's a deep blue sky
Take your chances (there's no limit)
ooh ooh ooh
If it's a long long road
There's no limit (there's no limit)
There's no limit
There's no limit
There's no limit

3. You And Tequila

Here I am again, kicking dust in the canyon wind
Waiting for the sun to go down
Made it up Mulholland Drive, hell-bent on getting high
High above the lights of town

You and tequila make me crazy
You run like poison in my blood
One more night might kill me, baby
One is one too many, and one more is never enough

For 30 days and 30 nights, I've been putting up a real good fight
There were times I thought you'd win
It isn't easy to forget the bitter taste morning left
I swore I wouldn't go back there again

You and tequila make me crazy
You run like poison in my blood
One more night might kill me, baby
One is one too many, and one more is never enough

When it comes to you, oh the damage I could do
It's always your favorite sings that do you in

You and tequila make me crazy
You run like poison in my blood
One more night might kill me, baby
One is one too many, and one more is never enough

4. Me And The Radio

I'm headed out of town and man I feel like crying
Snow is on the ground and everything is dying
I'll come back alive, when I cross 65

I need a song to help me along
I've got my Mustang pointed west
I'm going where the sun don't set
I'm on a roll, just me and the radio
Playing "Refugee" and "Born To Run"
And all those Allman Brother's songs
The wheels turn slow while I ride this road
Just me and the radio

2nd Avenue is twinkling behind me
Memories of you do their best to blind me
The river's rolling by, well baby, so am I

I need a song to help me along
I've got my Mustang pointed west
I'm going where the sun don't set
I'm on a roll, just me and the radio
Playing "Midnight Rider," "Ramblin' Man"
Words this woman understands
The wheels turn slow while I ride this road
Just me and the radio

Turn that sweet emotion on 'cause I just heard "Already Gone"
The wheels turn slow while I ride this road
Just me and the radio
Me and the radio

5. Cover Of A Magazine

Man, look at that rack
Right next to the popcorn and the battery packs
Am I supposed to be skinny or fat?
Hmmm?
Sometimes I get so depressed
Am I supposed to wears pants or a see-through dress
My friends say that I've become obessed
Hmmm?

I wanna be on the cover of a magazine
I wanna be on the cover of a magazine
Hair piled high, tons of diamonds
It all looks good to me

How come it's such a big deal
It's about how you look and not how you feel
All I know is I wanna wear those heels
Yeah
Every day, everywhere you look
For $2.99 you get to sink your hooks
In the lives of heroes, in the lives of crooks
It's all good

I wanna be on the cover of a magazine
I wanna be on the cover of a magazine
Hair piled high, tons of diamonds
It all looks good to me

I'm gonna wear a little pillbox hat
I'll be showing you this, I'll be showing you that
I finally get to be the homecoming queen
My mom and dad will be so proud of me

I wanna be on the cover of a magazine
I wanna be on the cover of a magazine
Hair piled high, tons of diamonds
It all looks good to me

6. Wildflower

I wanna run against the wind
I wanna pull the stars down from the sky
And put 'em back again
I wanna hold the world in my hands
I wanna see forever from where I stand

I'm a wildflower
With my roots down an old dirt road
I'm a wildflower
And I need a little rain to grow
A little sun to help my colors show
I'm a wildflower

I wanna jump every fence
I want a taste of freedom and hold on to my innocence
I wanna fly above the trees
And ride this feeling all the way to the sea

I'm a wildflower
With my roots down an old dirt road
I'm a wildflower
And I need a little rain to grow
A little sun to help my colors show
I'm a wildflower

7. Twice As Worth It

We're on shaky ground, but it's too late now
I ain't backing out, I don't give up that easy
You're not an easy man for me to understand sometimes
No matter how hard I try
You just shut me out and you act so proud
Always walking 'round with the world on your shoulders
But when you open up, I see so much love inside
And that's when I find, that it's

Twice as worth it
I know you've got just what I need
No, you ain't perfect for me
And it's gonne be
Twice as worth it

Slide on over here, let me feel you near
Say things in my ear, make love to me sweetly
C'mon and take my hand and be my man tonight
Only you can prove me right, that it's

Twice as worth it
I know you've got just what I need
No, you ain't perfect for me
And it's gonne be
Twice as worth it

8. Eddie

Eddie's got a way of looking at the world through rose-colored glasses
He's got a little of the Midas touch when it comes to mystery
Never ever gonna show his cards, that's just the way things are
And I won't let go of Eddie for anything
I met him at the 76 on my way to California
I was paying for my lottery ticket and a can of ice-cold beer
He was out of cigarettes, now we're calling off all bets
And I won't let go of Eddie for anything
I've got this feeling
I've got a real good feeling
Eddie's gonna get that jog in South Calabasas
We'll skinny dip in Silver Lake and make love all afternoon
We might have to share one car, but that's just the way things are
And I won't let go of Eddie for anything
No, I won't let go of Eddie

9. Waiting (Deana Carter with Dwight Yoakam)

Waiting for your world to turn around is less likely to be found
As I watch it moving past
Than any other hope that I might hold that someday you
Might know what it's like to slowly drown
Waiting for your world to turn around
Waiting for the the thought to cross your mind that 2 hearts might
Be inclined to commit an act that's bold
Or even just be looking for a chance to take advantage of
One glance and live inside it one more time
Waiting for the thought to cross your mind
How long will it be
'Til these blind eyes can finally see
I don't know, time goes so slow
While your love, like a river, flows right by me
Waiting for your world to turn around is less likely to be found
As I watch it moving past
Than any other hope that I might hold that someday you
Might know what it's like to slowly drown
Waiting for your world to turn around

10. Liar

You promised me that I'd be
The only one you'd ever love
And all of our dreams would come true
And I could always count on you

Liar, cheater
I bet you break more hearts than anyone
Loser, leaver
Sometimes I think you do it just for fun
Liar

You said the stars were all ours
And that heaven's just a kiss away
And when we were old you would hole me
And love me 'til our dying day

Liar, cheater
I bet you break more hearts than anyone
Loser, leaver
Sometimes I think you do it just for fun
Liar

Love's gonna get you back someday
Love's gonna get you hey, hey, hey
Love's gonna be the price you pay

Liar, cheater
I bet you break more hearts than anyone
Loser, leaver
Sometimes I think you do it just for fun
Liar

11. Goodbye Train

I took your picture off the shelf
Sat down and had myself a good cry
Wrote your number on a bathroom wall
Let somebody else take the fall this time (it's a long way down)
'Cause you wouldn't know a good thing
If it knocked you down, well that ain't my problem now

'Cause I like the way it feels
When I'm making tracks, I'm shooting for the moon
With the sky underneath my wheels
I'm riding on a goodbye train

I'd be better off to try my luck
With somebody who's strong enough to love me (yeah, yeah)
When I look at what I left behind
Freedom looks like a friends of mine, baby (baby)
Ain't nothing like a good change
And it's coming around, yeah
I'm coming around

'Cause I like the way it feels
When I'm making tracks, I'm shooting for the moon
With the sky underneath my wheels
I'm riding on a goodbye train

12. Girls' Night

I'm going downtown, I'm gonna look real nice
I'll be sportin' my stilletos; I'm gonna cause a few fights
I'm gonna find my friends
'Cause it's girls' night

Julie looks like she just woke up
She pours her Miller Lite in a silver cup
She's got 2 kids and a real good man
But she can't say that she'd do it again
She can't complain
She's just blowin' off steam
Come to girls' night and you'll see what I mean

I'm going downtown, I'm gonna look real nice
I'll be sportin' my stilletos; I'm gonna cause a few fights
I'm gonna find my friends
'Cause it's girls' night

Jenny drives a truck from Kansas State
We're on time, she always late
Can't let go of her lumberjack
Got his name tattooed across her back
She's a real hot momma who's long and lean
Come to girls' night and you'll see what I mean

I'm going downtown, I'm gonna look real nice
I'll be sportin' my stilletos; I'm gonna cause a few fights
I'm gonna find my friends
'Cause it's girls' night

Kasya's got a full-time job
Pushing pills and cotton swabs
Love's a boy who won't commit
She needs her own little first-aid kit
Her skirt is short and her eyes are green

Denise is selling stocks and bonds
Gonna retire in the Caribbean
Bought her boyfriend a brand new car
Gets the first round at our favorite bar
She's got 52 pairs of designer jeans

I'm going downtown, I'm gonna look real nice
I'll be sportin' my stilletos; I'm gonna cause a few fights
I'm gonna find my friends
'Cause it's girls' night

Father Christmas

1. I'll Be Home for Christmas

I'm dreamin' tonight of a place I love
Even more then I usually do
And although I know it's a long road back
I promise you

I'll be home for Christmas
You can count on me
Please have snow and mistletoe
And presents under the tree
Christmas Eve will find me
Where the love light beams
I'll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams

Christmas Eve will find me
Where the love light beams
I'll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams
If only in my dreams

2. The Christmas Song

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire
Jack Frost nipping at your nose
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir
And folks dressed up like Eskimos

Everybody knows some tofu and some mistletoe
Help to make the season bright
Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow
Will find it hard to sleep tonight

They know that Santa's on his way
He's loaded lots of toys
And goodies on his sleigh
And every mother's child is gonna spy
To see if reindeer really know how to fly

And so, I'm offering this simple phrase
To kids from one to ninety-two
Although its been said
Many times, many ways
Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas to.. You!

3. Merry Christmas Darling

Greeting cards have all been sent
The Christmas rush is through
But I still have one wish to make
A special one for you

Merry Christmas darling
We're apart that's true
But I can dream and in my dreams
I'm Christmas-ing with you

Holidays are joyful
There's always something new
But every day's a holiday
When I'm near to you
The lights on my tree
I wish you could see
I wish it every day
Logs on the fire
Fill me with desire
To see you and to say

That I wish you Merry Christmas
Happy New Year, too
I've just one wish
On this Christmas Eve
I wish I were with you

Logs on the fire
Fill me with desire
To see you and to say
That I wish you Merry Christmas
Happy New Year, too
I've just one wish
On this Christmas Eve
I wish I were with you
I wish I were with you

4. Blue Christmas

Ill have a blue Christmas without you
Ill be so blue just thinking about you
Decorations of red on a green Christmas tree
Wont be the same dear, if you're not here with me

And when those blue snowflakes start falling
That's when those blue memories start calling
You’ll be doin’ all right, with your Christmas of white
But I'll have a blue, blue, blue, blue Christmas

You’ll be doin’ all right, with your Christmas of white,
But I'll have a blue, blue Christmas

5. Johnny's Snowman

6. Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Oh the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we've no place to go
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow
It doesn't show signs of stopping
And I've brought some corn for popping
The lights are turned way down low
Let is snow, let it snow, let it snow
When we finally kiss goodnight
How I hate going out in the storm
But if you really hold me tight
All the way home I'll be warm
The fire is slowly dying
And my dear we're still goodbye-ing
As long as you love me so
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow
All the way home I'll be warm
All the way home I'll be warm
The fire is slowly dying
And my dear I'm still goodbye-ing
As long you love me so
Let it snow, Let it Snow, Let it snow
Let it snow, Let is snow, Let is snow
Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow

7. Silent Night

Silent night, holy night,
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon virgin mother and child.
Holy infant so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace.
Sleep in heavenly peace.

Silent night, holy night,
Shepherds quake at the sight,
Glories stream from heaven afar,
Heavenly hosts sing alleluia;
Christ the Savior, is born!
Christ the Savior, is born!

Silent night, holy night,
Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from thy holy face,
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord, at thy birth.
Jesus, Lord, at thy birth.

8. Winter Wonderland

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening,
In the lane, snow is glistening
A beautiful sight,
We're happy tonight,
Walking in a winter wonderland.

Gone away is the bluebird,
Here to stay is a new bird
He sings a love song,
As we go along,
Walking in a winter wonderland.

In the meadow we can build a snowman,
Then pretend that he is Parson Brown
He'll say: Are you married?
We'll say: No man,
But you can do the job
When you're in town.

Later on, we'll conspire,
As we dream by the fire
To face unafraid,
The plans that we've made,
Walking in a winter wonderland.

In the meadow we can build a snowman,
And pretend that he's a circus clown
We'll have lots of fun with mister snowman,
Until the other kids knock him down.

When it snows, ain't it thrilling,
Though your nose gets a chilling
We'll frolic and play, the Eskimo way,
Walking in a winter wonderland.

Walking in a winter wonderland,
Walking in a winter wonderland.

9. White Christmas

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten,
and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white

10. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Let your heart be light
From now on,
our troubles will be out of sight

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Make the Yule-tide gay,
From now on,
our troubles will be miles away.

Here we are as in olden days,
Happy golden days of yore.
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us once more.

Through the years
We all will be together,
If the Fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough.
And have yourself A merry little Christmas now.

Everything's Gonna Be AlrighT

1. You Still Shake Me

I ain't in love, I ain't your bud
I ain't your little turtle dove
I ain't your chick, I ain't your squeeze
I ain't the girl I used to be
But baby, you still shake me

I ain't upset, I ain't a wreck
'Cause I forgive and I forget
And I ain't bitter, I ain't sore
And I ain't cryin' anymore
But baby, you still shake me
Yeah baby, you still shake me

Every time I see you out
It makes me want to scream
I can't seem to figure out
What did I ever see
In a fool like you

The things I used to do, I don't
The things I would have, now I won't
Yeah, I'm okay and I'm alright
And I'm not living in denial
But baby, you still shake me
Yeah baby, you still shake me

I ain't in love, I ain't your bud
I ain't your little turtle dove
I ain't your chick, I ain't your squeeze
I ain't the girl I used to be
But baby, you still shake me
Yeah baby, you don't know what you do to me, baby
You shake me baby

2. Ruby Brown

She danced in the dirty streets
Satin shoes tied to her feet
People 'round here said she was a sight

Every night when the sun went down
She'd curtsey and take a bow
To the man in the moon and the dim street lights

We held in high regard
The rose in the mission yard
Singing, "Buffalo Gals won't you come out tonight"

And her name was Ruby Brown
And she came through shanty town
Like a queen without a crown
And her name was Ruby Brown

Long about ten years ago
She disappeared, why no one knows
But some say she was running for her life

'Cause a mean looking man in a limousine
Came down from New Orleans
He said he came here looking for his wife

And her name was Ruby Brown
And she came through shanty town
Like a queen without a crown
And her name was Ruby Brown

Some say he beat her bad
'Til she just went plain mad
But I say she went where he could never go

And her name was Ruby Brown
And she came through shanty town
Like a queen without a crown
And her name was Ruby Brown

3. Absence Of The Heart

I write you letters but I don't send them
I just can't figure out how to end them
I try to reach you you're right beside me
There's something missing and we can't deny that

We live together separately
We don't wanna fall apart
But every time we kiss
There's an emptiness
An absence of the heart

How did we lose it? Why did this happen?
When did we take it all for granted?
We sit in silence inside we're crying
How can we keep our love from dying?

We live together separately
We don't wanna fall apart
But every time we kiss
There's an emptiness
An absence of the heart

We live together separately
We don't wanna fall apart
But every time we kiss
There's an emptiness
An absence of the heart

We live together separately
We don't wanna fall apart
But every time we kiss
There's an emptiness
An absence of the heart

I write you letters but I don't send them

4. Brand New Key

I rode my bicycle past your window last night
I rollerskated to your door at daylight
It almost seems that you're avoiding me
I'm okay alone but you've got something I need

Well, I've gotta brand new pair of rollerskates
You got a brand new key
I think that we should get together
And try them out ya see
I've been lookin' around a while
You got somethin' for me
Oh, I've gotta brand new pair of rollerskates
You got a brand new key

I ride my bike, I rollerskate, don't drive no car
Don't go too fast, but I go pretty far
For somebody who don't drive I've been all around the world
Some people say I've done alright for a girl

I asked your mother if you were at home
She said yes, but you weren't alone
Oh sometimes I think that you're avoiding me
I'm okay alone but you got something I need

Well, I've gotta brand new pair of rollerskates
You got a brand new key
I think that we should get together
And try them out ya see
Oh, I've gotta brand new pair of rollerskates
You got a brand new key
Oh, I've gotta brand new pair of rollerskates
You got a brand new key

5.  Michelangelo Sky

We fell in love underneath a Michelangelo sky
We saw the same things in the shapes of the clouds rolling by
A blanket of leaves and the soft summer wind
Feeling the heat of the sun on our skin
That's when I learned how to fly
One kiss and you painted a picture of heaven
It's there when I look in your eyes
I swear I can see forever
Underneath a Michelangelo sky

One kiss and you painted a picture of heaven
It's there when I look in your eyes
I swear I can see forever
Underneath a Michelangelo sky

Until that day I was living in black and white
The touch of your hand brings all these colors to life
I get the feeling this feeling won't fade
Here in your arms I get carried away
Back to the very first time

One kiss and you painted a picture of heaven
It's there when I look in your eyes
I swear I can see forever
Underneath a Michelangelo sky

One kiss and you painted a picture of heaven
It's there when I look in your eyes
I swear I can see forever
Underneath a Michelangelo sky

One kiss and you painted a picture of heaven
It's there when I look in your eyes
I swear I can see forever
Underneath a Michelangelo sky

6. People Miss Planes

A tear ran down his face
As she started to leave
He said, baby, don't do this
I'm beggin' you please
What can I say to stop you
From walkin' out on us
I'll do anything to save our love

She said I'm through with talkin'
You know I've tried my best
I gotta leave right now
I've got a plane to catch
And he said

People miss planes
It happens all the time
They cancel their plans
They change their minds
Listen to your heart
Before you go too far
Baby, turn around
Before it's too late
People miss planes

She made it to the airport
In the nick of time
In a moment she'd be gone
Yeah, she'd board that flight
She'd fly away from trouble
From the struggles that they had
And from everything they had shared

A tear fell on her ticket
As she thought about their love
In just another minute
She'd give it all up

Then she heard a voice calling
Boarding flight 41
When another voice inside her said
You don't have to get on

People miss planes
It happens all the time
They cancel their plans
They change their minds
Listen to your heart
Before you go too far
Baby, turn around
Before it's too late
People miss planes

7. Never Comin' Down

Caroline was born about a mile from the Mississippi
Kinda like the kudzu, she grew up fast and pretty
A little bit of Memphis, little bit of New York City

All the boys would come around, blocking up her daddy's driveway
But she could spot a come-on coming from a mile away
She hears them callin' but she ain't fallin'

She wants a love that's gona last forever
She wants to stand where her feet don't touch the ground
She's holding out for a piece of heaven
She's gonna fly and she's never comin' down

She's waiting tables at her Uncle Joe's "Bar & Diner"
And it was powerful stuff when he pulled up in a big freight liner
He lit a cigarette and when their eyes met
She knew that one day he'd carry her away

She wants a love that's gona last forever
She wants to stand where her feet don't touch the ground
She's holding out for a piece of heaven
She's gonna fly and she's never comin' down

She wants a love that's gona last forever
She wants to stand where her feet don't touch the ground
She's holding out for a piece of heaven
She's gonna fly and she's never comin' down

She wants a love that's gona last forever
She wants to stand where her feet don't touch the ground
She's holding out for a piece of heaven
She's gonna fly and she's never comin' down

8. Make Up Your Mind

I don't understand the things you do
The more you think the more I think you are confused
It shouldn't be so hard to figure out
What you can and cannot live without so why can't you

Make up your mind
I'm going crazy
After all this time
You'd think that maybe
You would realize
That no one else could love you like I do
And I just can't keep waiting here for you
To make up your mind

I don't know what it is that you're searching for
I wonder if you wonder if there's something more out there
And even though I know it'll break my heart
I can't keep going on and on the way things are
It's not fair

Make up your mind
I'm going crazy
After all this time
You'd think that maybe
You would realize
That no one else could love you like I do
And I just can't keep waiting here for you
To make up your mind

I don't wanna have to tell you goodbye
But baby, trust me I will
And I might regret it for the rest of my life
But I can't change the way I feel

Don't you realize that no one else could love you
Like I do, but I just can't keep waiting here for you
To make up your mind

I don't understand the things you do
The more you think the more I think you are confused
Make up your mind
Make up your mind

9. Colour Everywhere

I used to see in black and white
Never something in between
Waitin' on the love of my life
To come into my dreams

Everything in shades of grey
Never any blues or greens
I needed someone else to turn to
Someone who could help me learn to see
All the beauty that was waiting for me

You...you put the blue back in the sky
You put the rainbow in my eyes
The silver lining in my prayers
And now there's colour everywhere
You put the red back in the rose
Just when I needed it the most
You came along to show you care
And now there's colour everywhere

My life was so predictable
Never any mystery
But ever since you shined the light
All of that is history

Now I have a hand to hold
And a reason to believe
There's someone in my life worth living for
I was hanging 'round just wishin' on a star
To put the happiness back in my heart and

You...you put the blue back in the sky
You put the rainbow in my eyes
The silver lining in my prayers
And now there's colour everywhere
You put the red back in the rose
Just when I needed it the most
You came along to show you care
And now there's colour everywhere

I left those hazy days behind me
Never to return again
Now they're just a faded memory
'Cause baby it's all so clear to see
The beauty that was waiting for me

You...you put the blue back in the sky
You put the rainbow in my eyes
The silver lining in my prayers
And now there's colour everywhere
You put the red back in the rose
Just when I needed it the most
You came along to show you care
And now there's colour everywhere

You care and now there's colour everywhere
There's colour everywhere
There's colour everywhere

10. Angels Working Overtimee

She was born at a rest stop on the Kansas state line
In the back of a Dodge in the summer time
Her momma named her Indiana like their license plate
And with the hum of the tires on the interstate
She was cryin'

They left her at a Denny's up in Colorado
In a blanket with her name written on a note
That said, "Forgive us Lord for not takin' her
But this child has a better chance of makin' it
In someone else's arms";

And it's a crazy thing
Fate has perfect wings
All the way down the line
Angels working overtime

She was raised in a place called Cheyenne Wells
But she never fit in and everyone could tell
That she didn't belong in some prairie town
And when she turned eighteen she bought a ticket out
On a Greyhound

They stopped a few minutes out of Santa Fe
She got out for a smoke and they drove away
She hitched a ride with a boy right out of school
He said "I'm headed out west" and she said "Me too
If that's all right"

And it's a crazy thing
Fate has perfect wings
All the way down the line
Angels working overtime

It took a couple hundred miles 'til they fell in love
They knew forever was the only thing good enough
And in a moment of passion in a motel room
They held on tight and their aim was true
Now they're countin' down the days
And dreamin' all night in an apartment in L.A.

And it's a crazy thingg
Fate has perfect wings
All the way down the line
Angels working overtime

And it's a crazy thing
Fate has perfect wings
All the way down the line
Angels working overtime

She was born at a rest stop on the Kansas state line
Angels workin' overtime
She was cryin'
She was cryin'
She was cryin'

11. Dickson Countyy

I live by the river on the wrong side of town
Nothing much to do here but listen to the sound
Of a train I'll never catch passin' me by
Of the muddy water drinkin' the tears that I cry

So I heard you're comin' back with somebody else
Well, if I had the time, if I had a little helpp
Every bridge in Dickson County would be burning down tonight
Every bridge in Dickson County would be burning down tonight

I have to think of something, I just have to find a way
Before you cross that river, before I see your face
'Cause I can see your headlights and I can feel the pain
And nothing's gonna save me if I see you again

But if I could use this torch I carry to put it all to rightss
I'd be baptized in the ashes come the morning light
And every bridge in Dickson County would be burning down tonight
Every bridge in Dickson County would be burning down tonight

I'd pay the price, I'd take the blame
If I could see it go up in flames

And if I could use this torch I carry to put it all to rights
Every bridge in Dickson County would be burning down tonight
Dickson County

12. The Train Song

I'm looking at you in the candlelight
I whisper softly in your ear
Feels like the stars are lining up tonight
I'm gonna hold you tenderly
Pull you close andd

Love you like a freight train
Gonna roll you down the railway
I'm gonna love you like a freight train
I'm gonna love you like a, love you like a
Freight trainn

Lock the door and throw the key away
I'm gonna take my time
Sun comin' up at the break of day
Won't be the end of the line
Oh baby, I'm gonna

Love you like a freight train
Gonna roll you down the railway
I'm gonna love you like a freight train
I'm gonna love you like a, love you like a
Freight train

Chuggin' up
Chuggin' up and down again

Love you like a freight train
Gonna roll you down the railway
I'm gonna love you like a freight train
I'm gonna love you like a, love you like a
Freight train

Chuggin' up
Chuggin' up and down again

I'm gonna roll you down the railway
I'm gonna love you like a freight train
I'm gonna love you like a, love you like a
Freight train

Chuggin' up
Chuggin' up and down again

13. Everything's Gonna Be Alright

There are times when my heart is uneasy with fear
The answers are nowhere in sight
Then I hear a sweet voice whisper soft in my ear
Everything's gonna be alright

When I see the people with hunger in their eyess
And no guidance through the night
Once again that sweet voice whispers soft in my ear, sayin'
Everything's gonna be alright

I'll show you the way if you'll only believee
Everything's gonna be alright
I'll show you the way if you just believe me
Everything's gonna be alright

Now I can see it's all comin' home
The message rings clear and brightt
Just as He promised, no one ever walks alone
And His love will show the light

See the light shine, oh how it shines
Everything's gonna be alright
See the light shine, oh how it shines
Everything's gonna be alright
Everything's gonna be alright

Did I Shave My Legs for This??

1. I've Loved Enough To Know

I hear what you're telling me but that don't make it so.
Two timing, talking sweet from the time your feet hit the floor
My heart is telling me it's time to let you go.
Oh baby, let go..

I've loved enough to know.
A heartache when I see one coming.
Been down this road before.
I've loved enough to know.

Every night out with the boys, you think I'm so naive.
I know exactly where you're going every time you leave.
I see every little something up your sleeve.
Oh baby, I can see.

I've loved enough to know.
A heartache when I see one coming.
Been down this road before.
I've loved enough to know.

2. We Danced Anyway

The summer air was heavy and sweet
You and I on a crowded street
There was music everywhere, I can see us there
In a happy little foreign town
Where the stars hung upside down
A half a world away, far far away
I remember you were laughung
We were so in love, we were so in lovee

And the band played songs we'd never heard
But we danced anyway
We never understood the words
We just sang oh la la la la la la la oh
And we danced anyway

They say you can't go back, baby I don't believe that
Come along with me, come on and dance with me
Maybe if I hold you close
Baby we could just let go
Of these things that tie us down, we'll come back around
Do you remember we were laughing
We were so in love, we were so in love

And the band played songs we'd never heard
But we danced anyway
We never understood the words
We just sang oh la la la la la la la la la oh
And we danced anyway

3. Count Me In

Could there be a different ending
To the same old story
Cause you're not the first to say
You're gonna be there for me
I need to know what's in your heartt
Can you finish what you start
How can I be sure I won't be sorry

If heartaches and tears and shadows of doubt
Are part of the deal, you can count me out
But if you're talking about a game I can win
You can count me in

When you tell me you're the one
I've always needed
You don't know how much I'm wanting
To believe it
But I've heard it all before
Now I'm needing something more
A promise is no good if you can't keep it

If heartaches and tears and shadows of doubt
Are part of the deal, you can count me out
But if you're talking about a game I can win
You can count me in

4. If This Is Love

Hold your racing horses just one minute
A funny feeling coming over me
I'm hearing violins and Tony Bennett
Boy if this is love then I'm in it

It was a triple digit summer
I thought I'd let you share my ice cream cone
We took a walk going nowhere
But I was already already gone

The train of love is rolling and I'm on it
Destination end of the line
Every star I see I wish upon it
Boy if this is love well then I want it

It was a triple digit summer
I thought I'd let you share my ice cream cone
We took a walk going nowhere
But I was already already gone

It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be now was it
Simple as the dimple in your smile
I just can't resist kissin' and huggin'
Boy if this is love then I sure love itt
Boy if this is love
Boy if this is love
Boy if this is love then I sure love it

Why did you have to forsake me
Couldn't you tell me goodbye
I've been waking up lately with tears in my eyes

Love ain't worth making, when it makes you the fool
A chance ain't worth taking
My heart is breakingg
When she's holding you

You don't know how happy you made me
Couldn't you give it one more try
I know her arms are waiting to hold you tonight

Love ain't worth making, when it makes you the fool
A chance ain't worth taking
My heart is breaking
When she's holding you

So go on and pack up what's left
Of all that we shared
You're leaving me lonely tonight

Love ain't worth making, when it makes you the fool
A chance ain't worth taking
My heart is breakingg
When she's holding you

6. Before We Ever Heard Goodbye

I remember that new pair of blue jeans
And man, your boots sure did shine
You had on my favorite cologne
I knew what was on your mind

You picked me up in that Mustang
You were right on time
Had the radio on, it was playing our song
We were leaving the world behind

I wanna remember that loving feeling
When we were young and our hopes were high
A heart was something you could believe in
Love was more than just a word
Before we ever heard goodbye

That summer night down at the levee
You gave me your ring on a chain
There would never be another for me
Tell me why does everything always have to change

I wanna remember that loving feeling
When we were young and our hopes were high
A heart was something you could believe in
Love was more than just a word
Before we ever heard goodbye

7. How Do I Get There

We've always been the best of friends
No secrets and no demands
But suddenly from somewhere out of the blue
I see a different light around you
One thing I haven't told you, I just want to hold you
And never let go, I need to know

How do I get there from here
How do I make you see
How do I tell you what my heart's been telling me
Lost in your lovin' arms that's where I wanna be
You know I love you
How do I get there

You probably think I've lost my mind
Takin' this chance crossin' that line
But I promise to be truer than true
Dreaming every night with these arms around you
I can't wait any longer this feeling's getting stronger
Help me find a way

How do I get there from here
How do I make you see
How do I tell you what my heart's been telling me
Lost in your lovin' arms that's where I wanna be
You know I love you
How do I get there

I know the shortest distance between two points is a straight line
But I'll climb any mountain that you want me to climb
The perfect combination is your heart and mine
Darlin' won't you give me a sign

How do I get there from here
How do I make you see
How do I tell you what my heart's been telling me
Lost in your lovin' arms that's where I wanna be
You know I love you
How do I get there

8. Strawberry Wine

He was working through college on my grandpa's farm.
I was thirsting for knowledge and he had a car.
I was caught somewhere between a woman and a child.
When one restless summer we found love growing wild.
On the banks of the river on a well beaten path.
It's funny how those memories they last.
Like strawberry wine and seventeen.
The hot July moon saw everything.
My first taste of love oh bittersweet.
Green on the vine.
Like strawberry wine.

I still  remember when thirty was old.
And my biggest fear was September when he had to go.
A few cards and letters and one long distance call.
We drifted away like the leaves in the fall.
But year after year I come back to this place.
Just to remember the taste.
Of strawberry wine and seventeen.
The hot July moon saw everything.
My first taste of love oh bittersweet.
Green on the vine.
Like strawberry wine.

The fields have grown over now.
Years since they've seen the plow.
There's nothing time hasn't touched.
Is it really him or the loss of my innocence.
I've been missing so much.

Like strawberry wine and seventeen.
The hot July moon saw everything.
My first taste of love oh bittersweet.
Green on the vine.
Like strawberry wine.

9. That's How You Know It's Love

If you get out in the drivin' rain
Stand in the eye of the hurricane
And never think twice
If you turn your back on selfishness
And your thoughts are for someone else
Cause' they've changed your life

That's how you know it's love
That's how you know it's meant to be
When the span of forever
Just never seems long enough
That's how you know it's love

When your heart insists that you give it all
When you no longer fear the fall
And you just let go
When the past is finally dead and gone
Fate leads you somewhere to the one
That has your soul
That's how you know it's love
That's how you know it's meant to be
When the span of forever
Just never seems long enough
That's how you know it's love

No part of you questions
No part of you doubts
You're only sure this is what love's about
And nothing and no one
Can stand in your way
Or keep you from sayin' what your heart is dyin' to say
That's how you know it's love
That's how you know it's meant to be
When the span of forever
Just never seems long enough
That's how you know it's love

10. Did I Shave My Legs For This

Flowers and wine is what I thought I would find
When I came home from working tonight
Well now here I stand, over this frying pan
And you want a cold one again

I bought these new heels, did my nails
Had my hair done just right
I thought this new dress was a sure bet
For romance tonight
Well it's perfectly clear, between the TV and beer
I won't get so much as a kiss
As I head for the door I turn around to be sure
Did I shave my legs for this

Now when we first met you promised we'd get
A house on a hill with a pool
Well this trailer stays wet and we're swimmin' in debt
And now you want me to go back to school

I bought these new heels, did my nails
Had my hair done just right
I thought this new dress was a sure bet
For romance tonight
Well it's perfectly clear, between the TV and beer
I won't get so much as a kiss
As I head for the door I turn around to be sure
Did I shave my legs for this?

Darlin' did I shave my legs for this?

11. To The Other Side

Everyday seems I turn another page
And it feels like the heartache fades a little more away
Look in the mirror and I like what I see
Hey you didn't take that much baby out of me
Something proud and somthing strong
Fills the absence of a memory that's dead and gone

I do believe I'm crossing over
I feel that weight come off my shoulder
I close my eyes
And drift close to the other side
Lord I swear I'm crossing over
I found the strength to let you go and
The the thought of you is getting colder
And further from my mind
And I think I crossed that line
To the other side

Lately I find when I'm walking through town
I don't have to turn away
I don't have to look down
If I should see you with somebody new
Well I might get sentimental
But I'll lake it through
Something real and something right
Puts the shadow of doubt
In a different light

I do believe I'm crossing over
I feel that weight come off my shoulder
I close my eyes
And I drift close to the other side
Lord I swear I'm crossing over
I found the strength to let you go and
The thought of you is getting colder
And further from my mind
And I think I crossed that line
To the other side
